Event Details

The Peninsula Women’s Chorus presents the 11th New Music for Treble Voices Festival, celebrating vocal improvisation through Circle Singing.

The festival will feature guest choirs including San Francisco-based Musae, Ensemble from the Piedmont East Bay Children’s Choir, Sacramento-based Vox Musica, and the PWC. Throughout the day, festival members will participate in workshops led by Bay Area-based members of MOTION, Bryan Dyer, Tammi Brown and David Worm, exploring the art of vocal improvisation.

A public Circle Singing workshop will take place from 2 pm to 2:30 pm, followed by a concert at 2:30 pm showcasing contemporary repertoire, including PWC’s premiere of two movements from “What Place is This?” by PWC’s Composer-in-Residence Amy X Neuburg.

The program will also feature a solo set by the festival clinicians that will conclude with an interactive Circle Singing session led by our clinicians, where everyone is invited to participate!
