“Prohibition NightLife” – Celebrate the Prohibition era with a drink in your hand and in your best speakeasy-friendly attire. Learn about the classic drinks from the prohibition era in San Francisco. DJ OggiBeat.
What better way to celebrate the Prohibition era than with a drink in your hand? Get dolled up in your best speakeasy-friendly attire and check out a clip from Ken Burns’ latest PBS series, Prohibition, complete with live commentary by a presenter from the California Historical Society.
Learn about (and sample) classic drinks from the Prohibition era in San Francisco, like the Pisco Sour. And don’t miss Veronica Klaus’ Victrola Lounge in the aquarium, where she’ll be spinning records on a genuine Victrola from the 20’s. More music in the east pavilion by Oggi Beat, with live accompaniment. In the planetarium, a tour of the Universe at 6:30, followed by two showings of Life: A Cosmic Story.
Special discounted evening admission to the California Academy of Sciences on Thursday evenings with unique special events each week.
