1st Anniversary & Flashmob | Awesöme Orchestra | Epic Free Classical Concerts
To celebrate their first birthday, the Awesöme Orchestra Collective are going to do their first ever flashmob aboard BART and at Frank H. Ogawa Plaza at noon, followed by an all-night musician lock-in at Fantasy Studios in the evening.
Please note, the original location at the MacArthur BART station had to be scraped due to construction.
Repertoire and schedule:
12-12:30 pm (on trains while heading to Frank Ogawa Plaza – get off at 12th St. BART)
- Terry Riley’s In C
12:30-2:30 pm (after arriving at Frank Ogawa Plaza – corner of 14th and Broadway above ground)
- Berlioz – Symphonie Fantastique – mvmt. IV
- Beethoven – Symphony No. 7 – mvmt. II
- Holst – “Jupiter” from The Planets
- Ravel – Bolero
- John Williams – Stars Wars Suite (selections)
To participate, sign up on the Google Form. Sheet music for all pieces (except Terry Riley’s “In C”) with stand clips will be provided. Please bring music stands (and a stool or chair if you have one; they have a limited number available). Check out sheet music for all pieces on Google Drive.
After it’s over, take a break and grab some food while they set up for the Epic, Awesome Orchestra Lock-in and All-Night Marathon Session at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley from 7 pm to 1 am that evening.
