2012 Election Series | SF Public Library

The San Francisco Public Library will host a series of election season talks, films and other events presented by the African American Interest Committee, League of Women Voters, and the Department of Elections at branches throughout San Francisco.

Movies include the classic Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, comedies Wag the Dog & Election, mockumentary Bob Roberts and others.

Obama: Accomplishments, Criticism, Commentary | 2012 Election Series | SF Public Library

District 10 Supervisor Malia Cohen, author/media specialist JR Valrey and San Francisco State University professor of political science Dr. Robert C. Smith will discuss President Barack Obama and his presidency moderated by former CBS news anchor Barbara Rodgers in the Koret Auditorium on Sunday, September 23rd at 1:30p.

The discussion will focus on President Obama’s first term in office, his relationship with Congress, the challenges of racism while in office as well as other key issues that have faced the President during his tenure. Voter registration will be available beginning at 12p.

The discussion will be followed by a Q & A.
