The 2014 Mission Creek Oakland Music & Arts Festival is back during the month of September showcasing the musicians, artists, and venues on the sunny side of the bay (aka Oakland).

The festival is organized by a group of local promoters, artists, musicians, and the local weekly newspaper, East Bay Express.

Come to Book Zoo (the teeny book store off of Piedmont Ave) for a show featuring local musicians:

• Bleak Tails – experimental rock
• Chonk – Gritty and infectious, Chonk & the Ghostfiddler create an experimental yet accessible – hell, even enjoyable soundscape, ranging from footstompin’ country blues, to bootyshaking soul funk, to mindbending folk tunes.
• Scott Alexander promises non-repetitive pop and free cookies at every show.
