Before hipsters and techies, there were hepcats and daddy-os. Escape from dullsville and experience the happenin’ hootenanny that is The Beatnik Shindig at Fort Mason. Discover the timeless beatnik themes of travel, exploration, sexual identity, and spiritual quests that shaped trailblazers like Kerouac, Dylan, and The Beatles.
In celebration of Pride weekend, you’ll get tickets to learn the story of Ryan Cassata (Saturday at 6:30pm) a performer and transgender man who personifies the beatnik ideals of staying true to yourself on the path of self discovery with personal storytelling and songs in Following in Allen Ginsberg’s Footsteps to Authenticity.
