2016 Emergency Prep Fair: Pet Demos, Free Microchips & Live Music | Berkeley

Celebrate your community’s resilience and protect those you love by getting ready together. Kids growing up in earthquake country need a disaster-prepared household.  Pet owners need to know how to keep pets safe in a disaster. At this free community-wide event, we invite people at all levels of preparedness to take steps towards emergency readiness for their whole family.

You’ll find family-friendly activities, tips and information, on-site training, and interactive demonstrations of safety resources available to you in our community. There will be a showcase of emergency vehicles, prizes, kids activities, and more.

• Safety and science for kids
• Story time with Berkeley Public Library
• Art, games and prizes
• Dog license station and FREE dog microchip with Berkeley Animal Care Services (bring your pet’s rabies certificate)
• Learn hands-on animal safety with Berkeley Humane
• Water Safety with Parks Recreation & Waterfront
• Learn about Home Fire Safety by the American Red Cross
• First aid training with Berkeley CERT
• Learn about and practice using a fire extinguisher
• Meet a Berkeley Police officer, emergency vehicles
• Survival demos with Trackers Earth
• Food Vendors at Ecology Center’s Farmer’s Market
• Emergency supplies
• Live music
