2019 Civic Center Commons Block Party | SF

The popular 1st Sundays Block Party returns for the 2019 season. This free family-friendly event features games and activities for all ages – don’t miss the petting zoo, recreational activities, selection of street food offerings curated by Off the Grid, music with San Francisco KMVQ 99.7 NOW, a craft market with one-of-a-kind goods created by over 20 local SF Etsy artisans and DIY pumpkin decorating.

And come out to the official launch celebration for SF COUNTS, and learn how you, your family and our city can get counted in the 2020 Census.

Activity Lineup for October 6th:

• Mobile animal petting zoo with Little Explorers;
• Pop-Up volleyball, badminton and handball stations, sporting merchandise and more recreational activities with Decathlon
• DIY pumpkin decorating with SF Etsy
• LEGO-Build Station with Play-Well TEKnologies and Twitter
• A dance fitness class with Alonzo King LINES Dance Center at 2pm
• An interactive pop-up with San Francisco Ballet – try on a tutu, learn about pointe shoes, practice your first position and join a dance class at noon
• SF COUNTS launch event at 12:30 pm
• Screen printing demonstrations with Sanctuary Print Shop
• A book sale with the Friends of the San Francisco Public Library
• An interactive art installation where participants will explore how to become heroes in their own lives at the Village Artist Corner
• A coloring station featuring illustrations from local artists
• Free Jenga, hula hoops and more games courtesy of the Downtown Streets Team Tuk Tuk
• A chance to play with friends and family in a game of giant scrabble, brought to you by 826 Valencia

2019 Civic Center Commons Block Party | SF

Join the 1st Sundays Block Party on Fulton Street at Larkin: Sunday, August 4th from 11 am to 3 pm. (Please note that some sites list the event as Noon to 4pm – so we’re not exactly sure)

This free family-friendly event features: street soccer matches with Street Soccer USA Bay Area at the new turf fields, street food offerings curated by Off the Grid, an open-air craft market with artisan products created by local SF Etsy: San Francisco Bay Area Etsy Team artisans, and music by 96.5 KOIT San Francisco. SF Etsy will also lead free DIY activities and get moving with Alonzo King LINES Dance Center at 2 pm.

For the August 4th Block Party event we’re excited to offer:

• Street soccer with open pick-up games offered by San Francisco Recreation and Parks and Street Soccer USA;
• DIY stations throughout the SF Etsy craft market, including a metal stamp project with Sharon Zimmerman;
• An Afro-Haitian movements class with Alonzo King LINES Dance Center;
• A book sale with the Friends of the San Francisco Public Library;
• An interactive art installation where participants will explore how to become heroes in their own lives at the Village Artist Corner;
• A coloring station featuring illustrations from local artists;
