2024 “Opening Day” Mini Boat Regatta at SF’s Spreckels Lake (Golden Gate Park)

First day of the model boating season at Spreckels Lake in Golden Gate Park. This event includes the annual Ragtop/Stinkpot Relay Regatta, a friendly relay competition that cleverly includes skippers and boats from the Power Squadron, Radio-Control Sail Squadron, and Freesail Squadron. The regatta will begin about 1:00 PM on the north side of Spreckels Lake.

The day’s festivities will also include the unveiling of a carved boulder permanently installed in front of the Clubhouse commemorating the Club’s 125th anniversary in 2023. A time capsule has been placed beneath the monument.
