2025 Succulent Expo & Plant Sale in Golden Gate Park (June 14-15)

Don’t miss the largest succulent show and plant sale in Northern California.

The San Francisco Succulent and Cactus Society (SFSCS) will hold its 2025 Succulent Expo on June 14 and 15, at the San Francisco County Fair Building (1199-9th Avenue at Lincoln Way). The show’s theme is “Leaf, Base, and Stem” and will feature a wide variety of mixed succulent container plantings. Admission is free and open to the public Saturday June 14, from 10 am to 5 pm, and on Sunday June 15, from 9 am to 5 pm. As a bonus to society members, early access to the sale only is provided Friday June 13, 3 pm to 7 pm, and Saturday June 14, from 9 am to 10 am.

The sale will include succulents, cacti, and bromeliads from more than 35 boutique nurseries and growers. A few of the vendors will offer hand-crafted studio pottery made especially for succulents.

A separate area for a juried show will feature a wide-ranging display of mature cactus and succulent clusters, rarely-seen species, and succulent bonsai to inspire and educate viewers. The show alone is worth so much more than the price of admission (FREE)!

The Expo will also include special presentations by Julia Etter and Martin Kristen (Agavaceae.com, Crassulaceae.com) on discovering new and interesting leaf succulents in habitat in Mexico; Andrew Hazlett (President of the San Jose Cactus and Succulent Society) will provide a live demo on cactus grafting; and Al Klein, of Botanic Wonders, on growing caudiciform plants and succulent bonsai. Due to popular demand, Walker Young of the Ruth Bancroft Garden will return to demonstrate fundamentals of succulent potting and propagation. In addition, there will be several experts who can provide assistance with plant selection, care and growing advice, and habitat and conservation preservation. Proceeds support SFSCS’s monthly programs and further its mission of education, conservation, and propagation.
