$3 Classic Movies | Closing of Pleasant Hill’s Dome Theater

The much beloved, historic Dome theater in Pleasant Hill is closing; they’re set to screen their final movie on Sunday, April 21, 2013.

In honor of their farewell weekend, they’ll be showing classic movies for $3.

Classic films will be screened at 2 pm and 7 pm, Friday, April 19 through Sunday, April 21, 2013.

  • Sunday, April 21, 2013 | 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968)

The classic movie ticket sales benefit the East Bay International Jewish Film Festival.

An imposing black structure provides a connection between the past and the future in this enigmatic adaptation of a short story by revered sci-fi author Arthur C. Clarke.

When Dr. Dave Bowman (Keir Dullea) and other astronauts are sent on a mysterious mission, their ship’s computer system, HAL, begins to display increasingly strange behavior, leading up to a tense showdown between man vs. machine that results in a mind-bending trek through space and time.
