Union Pacific Railroad and Civil War photographer A.J. Russell captured hundreds of beautiful stereo (3-D) images of the transformation of the west. The Golden Gate Stereoscopic Society presents selections from his remarkable works, based on high resolution negative scans curated by the Oakland Museum of California and exhibited in digital 3-D.

The event includes a demonstration of techniques to make, view, and share your own stereo photographs, and a gorgeous slideshow of modern stereo photography created by Golden Gate Stereoscopic Society members.
