San Francisco’s Bayview Neighborhood comes alive for 3rd on Third, a community-wide arts celebration for the whole family happening from 5-8 pm every third Friday of the month, at Bayview Town Center (Mendell Plaza at 3rd Street & Oakdale Ave).
The monthly event features pop-up galleries, pop-up attractions, local food vendors, a beer and wine garden, a special children’s zone with free art-making activities, and a stage featuring talent from Bayview and beyond.
The Bayview Town Center comes alive with $1 amusement rides, a circus, a PopUp French Quarter Community Market, and a Mardi Gras parade with the Gumbo Band.
Free, but an RSVP gets you one ticket for a free amusement ride.
There is a free concert with the amazing African songstress Fely Tchaco, a spoken word performance by Infinity Productions at Auntie April’s Soul Food Restaurant, a live jazz and art show at Radio Africa & Kitchen, and after 7:30 pm, see the Gumbo Band inside of Old Skool Cafe. The KMEL Street Team will be there as well to play music and they’ll most likely have some giveaways.
