Highlands 4th of July Celebration (2025)
The Highlands Community Association hosts an annual Independence Day celebration for residents of the Highlands neighborhood in San Mateo.

This is a community event intended primarily for local residents and their guests, rather than the general public.

The 2025 celebration features a 4K Fun Run (8:30 am), community parade (10 am), BBQ and children’s games (11 am), tennis and pickleball tournaments (11 am), pie baking contest judging (12 pm), and swim and cardboard boat races (2 pm). There is no community fireworks show in 2025 due to construction at the school grounds.
