The San Francisco chapter of the World Naked Bike Ride is meeting this year at the Justin Herman Plaza, riding down to Golden Gate Park and back. While the theme is to ride your bike naked, it is acceptable for newbies to go as bare as you dare. That is, whatever you are comfortable with – or in this case – without. Topless, bikinis, gymnastic leotards, nude body stockings, body paint, latex, chain mail, lingerie, pajamas, tuxedos, whatever you like. It’s all in good fun.
In the end the ride is really all about bringing attention to our nation’s energy policy. This year is especially important, given the BP crisis in the Gulf. Think of it as Critical Mass with a REALLY lenient dress code.
Bonus: Get there early and score professional body painting by FaceFX.
