Noise Pop 2020 Music & Art Festival | SF

The Noise Pop Festival is San Francisco’s (and Funcheap’s) favorite indie music and art festival.

Now in its 28th year, Noise Pop has brought early exposure to many emerging artists in the Bay Area and beyond, many of whom have gone on to widespread acclaim like Raphael Saadiq, Benjamin Gibbard, Maya Jane Coles, Best Coast, Duster, Washed Out and Helado Negro.

Over the course of a week, from Monday, February 24 to Sunday, March 1, 2020 transforms the Bay Area into a festival ground with multiple events taking place across the city each night.

Throwing Muses | Noise Pop 2020 Music & Art Festival | SF

Throwing Muses is an alternative rock band founded by Kristin Hersh in 1980. They’ve released more than 10 records, including the latest Purgatory/Paradise which contains 32 tracks’ worth of eclectic and carefully presented audio, on which Hersh experiments with form as well as sound. She continues to produce uncompromising, fiercely individualistic music at a rapid rate while also being a mom to four boys.

Mark Eitzel is a celebrated and idiosyncratic American songwriter best known as the leader of the iconic indie rock band American Music Club, who spun beautifully chaotic webs of guitar from Eitzel’s gloomy but compassionate studies of lost souls and alcohol. Mark opens the show.
