San Ramon’s Kristi Yamaguchi Holiday Ice Rink Opening Ceremony (2022)

City Center Bishop Ranch today announced the return of the Kristi Yamaguchi Holiday Ice Rink in San Ramon with the Olympic gold medalist and figure skating legend cutting the ribbon at the opening ceremony this Friday, Nov. 11 at 6 p.m., officially kicking off the eight-week ice skating rink season running through Jan. 8, 2023.

The grand opening ceremony, which will be emceed by NBC Bay Area’s Rob Mayeda, will also include ice skating performances by the local skating community, a performance by the San Ramon Voices carolers from San Ramon Valley High School and appearances by Mayor Dave Hudson and Alex Mehran Sr., chairman of the board at Sunset Development Company.

The ceremony is open to the public and special event tickets ($30) are available, which include access to the ice rink deck to watch the opening ceremony and ribbon cutting by Yamaguchi along with admission to the first skate session of the season at 7 p.m. A tree lighting ceremony will be held Thursday, Dec. 1.

Ice rink hours are weekdays from 12 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and weekends from 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Ticket pricing includes skate rental and a 90-minute skate session, which start on every even hour: General Admission ($21), Children Ages 3-8 ($15) and Skating Aid Rentals ($10). Early bird discounts of $2 are available Monday to Thursday before 4 p.m., excluding Nov. 21-25 and Dec. 23 to Jan. 6. Advance online tickets are highly recommended to reserve sessions.

A portion of all rink proceeds benefit Kristi Yamaguchi’s Always Dream, which gives the gift of literacy with a mission that ensures children from low-income families have access to high-quality books in the home environment and extensive family engagement support.

The skating rink is situated at the southeast corner of City Center Bishop Ranch on the corner of Bollinger Canyon and Camino Ramon. Complimentary parking is available in the City Center parking garage along with valet parking for a seamless experience.
