USMNT has faced Iran twice in international matches, once in a World Cup and the other in a friendly. Iran won 2-1 in the 1998 World Cup;Two years later in a friendly, both teams played to a 1-1 draw. It’s our third match of Group B, but many have been calling this a must-win for the US.
That said, we are the US (the mighty mighty US!)…
