LUNAR NEW YEAR
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 4
11AM-2PM
This Laurel tradition returns with a procession led by Sifu “Master” Lacy of the Buk Sing Choy Lay Fut Kung Fu Academy of Fremont as they unleash two amazing Lions accompanied by drummers, firecrackers, and offerings to bring luck and welcome the Year of the Rabbit. Businesses will be “blessed” by the Lions for a year of good luck!
Join us at 11am at the RE/MAX Parking Lot (4232 MacArthur Blvd.) for a blessing of the district. Then follow the Lion Dance procession as it visits businesses along MacArthur Boulevard from 35th Avenue to High Street in Oakland’s Laurel District.
The Year of the Rabbit is known to be the luckiest out of all the twelve animals. It symbolizes mercy, elegance, and beauty. Happy New Year!
Free and open to the public; please join us!
