Vallejo Street Dahlias is committed to stewarding beauty by the Bay! We are a small family farm focused on beautiful dahlias of all shapes and sizes. Our primary growing area is located in the beautiful agricultural area of Watsonville, CA, just south of Santa Cruz.
ABOUT OUR FARM: Visit our small family farm in the heart of beautiful Watsonville, CA to see our field of nearly 2,000 dahlia plants in over 80 varieties, and pick a bouquet for yourself or a special someone to take home!
ABOUT THE TICKETS: Ticket price is per person $5.72 – and includes access to the flower field. All the necessary supplies such as clippers and bouquet wrap are provided. Tickets MUST be purchased online., and only ticket holders will be permitted into the field. This event is for people ages 12+ and requires the use of sharp garden floral snips. Children under 11 or under may accompany a ticket holder free of charge, but will need to be supervised at all times. Tickets are NON-REFUNDABLE.
ABOUT THE FLOWER PRICING: Blooms are priced per stem, based on the size of the bloom. $2 for small blooms (around 2″), $3.50 for medium blooms (around 4″), and $5 for large blooms (around 6-8″). You can pick a healthy handful for a beautiful bouquet for around $25, and should last for a week! We send them home with you in a sleeve with water so they stay fresh for you as long as possible. We have over 1700 plants in over 80 varieties, so there are PLENTY of gorgeous blooms to choose from, and we hope you enjoy!
GETTING TO THE FARM: some directions, if are coming from the Central Valley or the Bay Area, may send you over Highway 152 – just keep in mind that this is a windy mountain road. If you’re sensitive to windy roads, we recommend Highway 1 or Highway 129.
WHEN TO ARRIVE: Doors open at time of opening and fields must be vacated at listed times. Please do not arrive early. The closer to our opening time you arrive, the better the bloom selection will be, so arrive on time if possible! But not to worry – we will have MANY beautiful flowers for you to choose from! Feel free to arrive at any time during your ticket’s time window, but be sure to give yourself around 30-45 minutes to select your blooms – it can be overwhelming (in a good way) to look at a field full of flowers and then have to decide!
ABOUT THE WEATHER: Watsonville tends to be foggy and cool in the mornings, so be prepared for overcast weather with temperatures in the 60s. We advise a light jacket or sweater, and closed toed shoes that will help you to navigate our field!
A FEW MORE DETAILS: Please keep in mind this is a working farm field. There will be dirt, weeds with nasty spines and bugs. Mud and uneven ground are also possible. Sunscreen is recommended. Please use provided garbage cans for any trash. Please do not bring any pets (service animals are absolutely welcome!)
ABOUT CANCELLATIONS: Dates and times are as listed, rain or shine. Consider bringing a jacket or sweater in the event of light rain. In the event that our U-Pick time is cancelled, you will be rescheduled. Cancellations and rescheduling will be communicated via email.
