Celebrate San Francisco on film at Union Square Plaza!

Join us before every show for movie trivia, prizes, performances, drinks from the bar (for purchase), popcorn (while supplies last), and more! Presented in partnership with Alamo Drafthouse Cinema.

September 20: Big Hero 6 (PG)

• Doors and Pre-Show: 5:30pm
| Film Starts: 7:30pm (runs 102 mins)
• Pre-show hosting from SFFilm with hands-on art activities from The Walt Disney Family Museum. Test your knowledge with pre-show trivia and earn prizes from Alamo Drafthouse and Westin St. Francis!

Plus, be sure to check out the winning boards from Market Street Reimagined, an international open ideas competition highlighting bold visions for San Francisco’s most iconic corridor.

October 4: The Birds (1963) (PG-13)

• Doors and Pre-Show: 5:00pm |
Film Starts: 7:00pm (runs 119 mins)
• Kick off spooky season with Alfred Hitchcock’s classic horror-thriller. Did you know the opening scene is filmed in Union Square? Pre-show activities TBA.

Limited seating is available. Bring your own low chair or blanket, and warm layers! Leashed dogs are welcome. Union Square is ADA accessible. Parking information may be found here but public transit use is encouraged.

You can also enjoy Union Square Plaza’s daily amenity zones, open 9am – 6pm, which offer books and games for all ages to borrow while hanging out in the Square.
