NASA’s glory days seem to be in the past and with space exploration twarted by tight budgets and unfathomable distances.
So conceptual artist Jonathan Keats thought of an alternative: let the planets come to us. The result is the Local Air & Space Administration (LASA).
It may sound like a joke but it’s not. Keat’s background is in experimental philosophy so he thought this through: he did exploration by osmosis.
He collected meteorites from the Moon and Mars and mineralized water from Earth with it. He also grew cacti in meteorite dirt. What does that get you? Martian and Lunar water and plants, bringing space down to us!
This is the opening night party for the art exhibit where you can meet Mr. Keats and grill him on the topic yourself.
BUY SOME SPACE WATER! It costs $200,000 for five minutes in space on Virgin Galactic’s suborbital flights. You can enjoy 750 milliliters of Lunar water for just $30 here. A bottle of Martian mineral water will sell for $45.
