UPDATE: Due to Coronavirus concerns, this event has been cancelled for 2020. You may still check the website to see if  there are any artists and organizations will offer a virtual event. 

Dancers’ Group is pleased to announce the 22nd anniversary of Bay Area Dance Week, which will run April 24-May 3, 2020.

The annual 10-day festival features over 400 hundred free events throughout the Bay Area. Take dance classes and watch free performances in a wide range of styles including Argentine tango, classical Indian, jazz, hip hop, ballet, traditional hula, fire dance, Samba, modern, Chinese classical, belly dance, aerial dance, West African, contact improvisation, and more.

Aerial Dance Classes | CANCELED: 2020 Bay Area Dance Week | April 24 – May 3

Learn to defy gravity with an aerial dance class day for all ages at Zaccho Dance Studio. There will be an all levels class and an intermediate class.

Intermediate Aerial Dance | 11:45am – 12:45pm

Free, but RSVP is required.

Lift off with a free and fun Intermediate Aerial Dance class with Sandia Langlois. Building upon each individual’s creativity, Intermediate Aerial Dance will incorporate aerial skills into a fresh movement vocabulary with exercises and combinations upon aerial windows, ladders, hoops, and trapezes. The 1 hour class offers attendees individualistic training.

All Levels Aerial Dance | 12:45-2pm

Free, but RSVP is required.

Drop in for a FREE workshop with Heidi Button. Also known as Aerial Silks, this art form involves strength, flexibility, endurance, and control. Dancers will learn choreography that gives dimension and musicality to a vertical plane, while navigating through transitions leading up to exhilarating drops, suspensions, and release moves.
