“Altamont” Book Launch Party & Discussion | Green Apple Books

Please join Green Apple Books, and The Great American Music Hall, in celebrating the release of Joel Selvin’s masterpiece of cultural journalism, Altamont: the Rolling Stones, the Hell’s Angels, and the Inside Story of Rock’s Darkest Day.

Joel Selvin has been a Bay Area-based music journalist since 1969, he was on staff at the San Francisco Chronicle for more that 30 years, and Altamont is the book that he was born to write. Taking readers behind the scenes, into the clubhouses, and under the stages of this notorious free concert, Altamont is the final word on a day that lives in infamy nearly half a century later: multiple deaths, some really bad acid, even worse red wine, and the Hell’s Angels as security.

Joining Joel Selvin at The Great American Music Hall for this official book launch party on August 16th will be the Rolling Stones cover band, Rudy Colombini and the Unauthorized Rolling Stones. Copies of Altamont will be available for purchase on-site, and Joel Selvin will be happy to sign them for you, and all your friends. This event are for 21 and up only, please.
