Event Details

Come see assemblage sculptures made from deconstructed pianos, using only piano parts, wood, strings, hammers, and screws.

Mauro Ffortissimo creates sculpture from deconstructed pianos, and drawings from musical notations. You may have experienced his Sunset Piano project, with Dean Mermell, where pianos were set up in the SF Botanic Garden for anyone to play, and also along Market Street. Mauro’s work has been at Chez Poulet for the past month, and on Wednesday Nov. 30 they’ll be celebrating and closing the exhibit.

Mauro will be giving a poetry reading featuring Amiri Baraka, ee cummings and Wallace Stevens – as well as his own poetry with other surprises in store. Several pieces are still available for purchase.
