Event Details

Greek tragedy and cheap beer mix in ‘The Theban Chronicles’ presented by San Francisco Theater Pub, a four part serial drawn from the writings of the three Greek tragedians – Aeschylus, Euripides, and Sophocles – that tells the story of the House of Oedipus.

In part three, ‘Seven Against Thebes’ by Aeschylus presents the climactic battle between Oedipus’ sons, Eteocles and Polyneices, for control of Thebes. A celebrated play though very infrequently performed in the United States, ‘Seven Against Thebes’ will be presented concert style in the Cafe Royale Bar (800 Post Street, San Francsico, at Leavenworth). Patrons are encouraged to grab a beer, enjoy the play, and hang out with the collaborative team after the show.

All Theater Pub performances run under an hour and are free to attend.
