Join 1,000+ people on the streets of Oakland for our annual Animal Liberation March as part of the Animal Liberation Conference.

As a movement rises across the world, revolutionary social and political change is coming for all animals. Every year, activists from around the globe converge in the Bay Area to take action together. This year, we are uniting in Oakland and marching through the streets to let people know that we are creating a world where every animal is happy, safe, and free, and inviting them to join us.

Schedule:

  • 2:00 pm: Rally & briefing
    – Everyone will gather at the briefing location, where we will rally for motivation, hear from amazing speakers and prepare ourselves to participate in a safe and impactful action.
  • 2:30 pm: March
    – We will march together and demand the total liberation of nonhuman animals!
  • 4:30 pm: After Party
    – The march will end as a party at a lakeside park. We will enjoy food, entertainment (including a talent show), and fun times together.

The first-ever animal liberation march after party. After the March, join your new friends for food, music, mingling, and games. Programming will include a talent show, DIY T-shirt Painting, and games for everyone. With a backdrop of beautiful Lake Merritt, we’ll party until the sun goes down.

Accessibility: This event will include a march which will be done at a moderate pace. The march will be about 2 miles long, and will take place on city streets which often have potholes and cracks throughout. There will not be bathrooms available until the afterparty at the end of the march route, however you may find a shop or cafe along the route that would allow you to use theirs (usually with purchase). The afterparty will be in a park – there will be some seating available but most participants should expect to stand or sit on grass. There will be portable washrooms available (including an ADA accessible one). ASL interpretation may be available by request – if you have questions or have accessibility requests for this event, please email info@liberationconference.
