Eat, mingle and learn about the people whose ancestral homeland is known in history as “the cradle of civilization”at the 24th Annual Assyrian Food Festival, a celebration of the rich culture and heritage of Assyrians featuring non-stop activities, entertainment, special exhibits and authentic Assyrian foods.

FREEEach year, the Assyrian Church of the East, Mar Yosip Khnanisho Parish of San Jose, provides a fun-filled weekend that attracts thousands of people from the Bay Area and Central Valley.
Admission, parking, and shuttle services are free. Please note, pets are not allowed.

The Assyrian nation existed as an independent state and empire from the 24th century BC until the end of the 7th century BC and then was conquered and ruled as an occupied province until the mid-7th century AD when it was dissolved. Today that ancient territory is part of several nations; the north of Iraq, part of southeast Turkey and northeast Syria.
