EBRC is East Bay Renegade Cosplay and they have been around for about two years now with almost 200 members on Meetup.com and continue to host all kinds of cosplay related events. This is going to be an all-ages cosplay event jam-packed with nerdy contests and activities.
They have been kicking around the ideas of a costume contest, trivia contests, photo shoots, cosplay photography contests and a myriad of other activities including a fabric/costume swap, so get ready for exciting surprises.
2015 Nerdy Cosplay Field Day
June 7, 2015 | 10 am to 5 pm
Larkey Park, 2771 Buena Vista Ave, Walnut Creek, CA
Tickets: $5 (There’s also an option to purchase a booster ticket which will get you a special little trinket at the event)They have reserved a spot at a mid-sized park and there is an event capacity limit of 300 people. This means that to ensure you get a spot you should pre-pay for the event. (Which will also help them to purchase food, awards, prizes, etc.)
Parking: It’s free, but there isn’t a whole lot of it in the lots. Fortunately, there is quite a bit of street parking, so carpool if at all possible.
Check out the Fabric Swap Event taking place at the field day,
Please make sure you adhere to the following rules:
- This is going to be at a park where there are lots of families. This means no overly revealing or sexually suggestive costumes (not a time to drag out your Witchblade costume) or excessively dangerous weapon props. NO LIVE STEEL WEAPONS. NO GUN PROPS AT ALL. Also, this includes Nerf guns, water guns, and other disruptive toys like that. Anything shaped like a gun is NOT allowed. Use common sense with this one guys! If you think it’s questionable, then it’s probably not something you should bring!
- They will be in public, so please do not bring any alcohol, drugs, or other substances of that nature. And don’t come to the park under the influence of anything. I’d think that would go without saying, but just in case.
