Event Details

Join the Center for Biological Diversity for the Bay Area Frackdown to take a stand against the dangerous oil and gas extraction technique called fracking, plus enjoy speakers, art and local food vendors starting at noon on Saturday, October 19, 2013.

Free, but an RSVP is requested.

This is the second annual Global Frackdown rally in Oakland and this event is family friendly.

“California is being fracked. And we may actually be on the verge of a fracking boom; this dangerous oil and gas extraction technique has the potential to spread into neighborhoods, public lands and even near national parks across the state. Fracking spells bad news for our climate and environment and pushes the looming climate crisis ever closer.”
