Event Details

It’s time for the 8-day-long Young at Art festival celebrating the creativity of San Francisco students with exhibits and performances at the de Young Museum and the Concourse Bandshell in Golden Gate Park.

The festival runs from May 12-20, 2012 and features two galleries with over 1,000 pieces of art from San Francisco students (with many pieces celebrating the Golden Gate Bridge) plus a four-day music festival from May 15-18 with over 4,000 performers.

All events are free and open to the public and take place in either the public spaces of the De Young Museum or the Music Concourse & Bandshell in front of the De Young museum in Golden Gate Park

Saturday, May 12 – Literary Arts Event at 2PM in the Koret Auditorium
Sunday, May 13 – Youth Art Galleries open during normal de Young Hours
Monday, May 14 – CLOSED
Tuesday, May 15 –  10:20a to 1:10p – Music & Dance Festival Day 1 – Jai ho dancing & orchestra
Wednesday, May 16 –  10a-2p – Music & Dance Festival Day 2
Thursday, May 17 – 9:50a-1:15p – Music & Dance Festival Day 3
Friday, May 18 – 9:45a -2p – Music & Dance Festival Day 4 (plus a night program at 5pm)
Saturday, May 19 – Youth Art Galleries open during normal de Young Hours
Sunday, May 20 – Youth Art Galleries open during normal de Young Hours
