Appetite Obscure: An Experimental Potluck
Appetite Obscure is an experimental dining experience, created by you and happening on a monthly basis. Please come prepared with an Interaction Dish.
What is an Interaction Dish, you ask? It’s food that you tell your eater how to experience. Eating is just one small part of the meal. The way the food is shared, dressed, dismantled, exploded, complimented, criticized, and played with is just as important as its taste. Your experience can be anything from a simple gesture to elaborate performances involving story-telling, costumes, language play, dance, games, tricks, or anything else imaginable.
Liberate yourself from the tyranny of the tongue and experience a new way of eating.
The next Appetite Obscure dinner is happening on Sunday, March 30, 2014 at Buena Vista Park. Meet at the entrance at precisely 1 pm, climb the stairs and eat together.
Spring is here at last – Arab Spring, Prague Spring, the season Spring, mechanical springs, all of it here now, rising up from your plate. The theme is Rising Upwards in any form–personally, politically, or spatially. Bring the cuisine of revolutionaries, or stage a revolution in your cuisine, or have your food take flight.
Liberate yourself from tradition, from fear, from the senseless oppression of arbitrary rules. Who says you can’t have dessert before dinner? Who says lunch has to be eaten at noon? Who says man cannot fly unaided? They don’t care who says these things; they care about experiencing what your dish has to say.
