Art Night SF: Mid-Market Art, Live Music & Karaoke | UN Plaza
Submitted by the Event Organizer
Art Night SF is a new outdoor event series working to activate the public spaces of UN Plaza and Mid-Market between 7th and Market Streets through accessible installations of contemporary art on Fridays, July 29, September 30,
October 14 (CANCELLED due to rain) and October 28 from 5-9 pm.
Enjoy local food trucks, a plaza cocktail bar by Barbary Coast Cocktails and music while taking in works by both emerging and established San Francisco-based artists. The entire night is free of charge and gives people the opportunity to explore their creativity and engage in the cultural exchange in the emerging Central Market Arts District.
In 2016, Public Works and company have added exciting elements such as a Karaoke Battle Series and a curated program of activities for all ages. In addition to a full bar, interactive art activities, public outdoor exhibitions and performances, they have curated a line of family-friendly and free fun activities, including face painting, bubble balls (for kids and adults), an interactive green screen photo booth by Brett Walker, artist and owner of George and Lennie Cafe, and Sound Commons, an immersive architectural installation from the Exploratorium.
Art Night SF will represent a collaboration between local galleries, museums, arts nonprofits and independent artists with the collective aim of publicly championing the arts in San Francisco.
By bringing people together for an unforgettable outdoor exhibition — and, with the participation of outspoken leaders of San Francisco’s creative community — we hope to celebrate the impact that cultural contributors are making within the city.
