Event Details

In celebration of the 33rd annual St. Stupid’s Day Parade, the First Church of the Last Laugh is exposing to the bay area art world some of the finest interpretations of that seldom (over) used human impulse…STUPIDITY. The annual April Fools day event held in San Francisco is an extension of the medieval European tradition of the Feast of Fools, a public social satire on the powers that be.

Curated by Bishop Joey, instigator of the parade, this exhibit brings together under one roof the artistic and historical aspects of this little known saint. Paint, stone, paper, celluloid, metal, clay and digital mediums will help to explain the unavoidable influences that this two dimensional spiritual scapegoat has had on you and the world.

March 11th – April 30th 2011. Opening Reception Dates: Friday, March 11th and Friday, April 8th, 6-9 pm, plus a Big Stupid Party on April 1st from 6-11 pm.
