Event Details

The closing of the gallery exhibition Wartime Revival of the Senses will feature a performance by Yasmin Golan and a panel discussion with Golan, Elizabeth Travelslight, and Sanaz Mazinani.

For the performance, Golan will prepare foods described by medieval poets in 12th-13th century Afghanistan, and then offer these dishes to gallery visitors. As an American contemporary artist preparing such foods, Golan invites contemporary American taxpayers to engage with the cultural and artistic heritage of occupied Afghanistan.

The performance will begin at 5:30; the artist panel is at 6:30.
