Please join in at the 2019 Asian Pacific American Heritage Awards Ceremony and Reception on May 1 at the Herbst Theater.

This official City and County of San Francisco event aims to bring together Bay Area communities in celebration of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month. This year, we will be celebrating the 41st Anniversary of the Asian Pacific American Heritage Month.

Asian Pacific American Heritage Month provides the perfect opportunity to honor individuals and organizations that have achieved significant milestones and impact.

• Honoring two historically significant community milestones:
  • Transcontinental Railroad – 150th anniversary
  • Asian American Studies Department at San Francisco State University – 50th anniversary
• Presentation of the Second Annual Edwin M. Lee Public Service Award
• Unique cultural performances: including an opening performance by the renowned Filipino American dance organization the Bindlestiff Studio in celebration of its 30th anniversary
• The annual Cultural Procession featuring award winning choreographer Lily Cai

The APA Heritage Awards event is open and free to the public. Seating is limited and RSVP is required below.

May 2019 marks the 41st anniversary of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month (APAHM), which celebrates the culture, history, traditions, achievements and contributions of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in the United States.
