Event Details

Like Apollo en route to the moon, Astronomy on Tap: Bay Area is in a transfer orbit. For those who don’t know, Astronomy on Tap is an event where local students and scientists take over a local bar to drink beer, talk about space, and have fun.

To accompany their new locale, they’ve got a great collection of new speakers and activities.

  • You will hear from Prof. Dan Akerib about his experiment to try to detect elusive dark matter particles,
  • Dr. Kate Follette will show you her work in finding planets around other stars.
  • They also have a NASA visitor; Dr. Trisha Ashley will speak about her so-called “cute” dwarf galaxies
  • They’ll also have some fun interactive trivia sessions, with sweet prizes.
