Event Details

Local astronomers talking about stars, planets, and the universe at your neighborhood bar. No PhD required.

Astronomy on Tap is is a free public lecture series where astronomers give short, laid-back talks over drinks at local bars. No background in science required — our scientists share cool stuff about space while the audience sits back and relaxes, with plenty of time to indulge their curiosity and ask whatever questions they want.

This month, we’re hosting:

Jessica Snyder (Blue Marble Space Institute of Science) – Lessons for Deep Space Survival

and

Luca Boccioli (UC Berkeley) – A Tale of Neutrinos and Supernovae

Snyder is a Senior Research Investigator at the Blue Marble Space Institute of Science, having previously worked as a scientist at NASA. Boccioli is a Postdoctoral Research at UC Berkeley.

Astronomy on Tap takes place in cities all over the world. This is a revival of the San Francisco chapter, which regularly hosted events before the pandemic. We’re excited to be back on a monthly basis!

The event is free, but there is a 1 drink minimum. Food (tacos) will be available with vegetarian options.

Disclaimer: Please double check event information with the event organizer as events can be canceled, details can change after they are added to our calendar, and errors do occur.
