Event Details

Author Matthew Clark Davison will be in conversation with Librarian Stewart Shaw to discuss, Davison’s novel “Doubting Thomas.” The book follows fictional fourth grade teacher, Thomas McGurrin, an openly gay man, and how he deals with accusations made against him by parents and the private school he teaches at in Portland, Oregon. Davison’s novel explores the discrepancy between the progressive ideals and persistent negative stereotypes among the privileged regarding social status, race, and sexual orientation. The library will also give copies of the book to the first 15 people who sign up. We will email you if you qualify. Hosted by Berkeley Public Library

The discussion will take place over Zoom, register here: https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_eU4MyDEmRMOWzb3-4sGebA
