Event Details

Eve Megargel will present her startling and nuanced memoir, Learning to Kiss, which delves beyond the current headlines to show what happens when pain and autism collide. The memoir is about Eve and her family’s experiences raising her now 26 year old son who was diagnosed with severe autism at the age of 2 and who is nonverbal.

The book highlights the importance of recognizing the potential of those with limited verbal abilities to express themselves and achieve meaningful social relationships, even in the face of constant adversity. Free childcare, accomodation and interpretation services are available to families who pre-register with one week’s notice.
