Come to the University of San Francisco for a talk with the writer/director of “Empire of Silver,” a critically-acclaimed film about China’s very own “Wall Street” in the late Qing-era on Tuesday, August 30.

The debut film of Palo Alto-based actress, dramatist and animator Christina Yao, “Empire of Silver” has won over a dozen awards for its story of the merchant culture of Shanxi province at the end of the 19th century.

The talk is free and open to the public, though reservations are recommended and can be made by calling (415) 422-6828.
