Awesöme Orchestra | Epic Free Classical Concerts
Awesöme Orchestra brings people together for musical adventures. Their free sessions are part performance, part open rehearsal. They provide the sheet music, and anyone is welcome to play or to listen.
The Awesöme Orchestra Collective is the Bay Area’s most adventurous reading orchestra, dedicated to playing excellent orchestral music of all kinds with amazing musicians in a fun, casual environment focused on high musicianship. Their events are always free, but they ask for a pay-what-you-will donation to help cover basic costs.
Come out and join Awesöme Orchestra on Saturday, November 10 from 1-4 pm at Sports Basement Berkeley.

1:00 – 1:45 pm – Alberto Ginastera – Danza final (Malambo) from Danzas del ballet ESTANCIA (1943)
INSTRUMENTATION: 1 piccolo, 1 flute, 2 oboes, 2 clarinets (B-flat), 2 bassoons, 4 horns (F), 2 trumpets (C), timpani, xylophone, 6 percussion (snare drum, tenor drum, bass drum, tambourine, triangle, suspended cymbal, tam-tam), piano, strings
2:00 – 2:50 pm – Aivi & Surasshu – “Pocket Universe” from their album THE BLACK BOX (arr. Alex Van Gils) (2013)
INSTRUMENTATION (TBD): 2 flutes, 1 piccolo, 2 oboes, 1 English horn, 2 clarinets (B-flat), 1 bass clarinet, 2 bassoons, 1 contrabassoon, 4 horns (F), 2 trumpets (C), 2 trombones, 1 bass trombone, 1 tuba, timpani, 3 percussion (snare, kick, suspended cymbal, glockenspiel, vibraphone), strings
3:00 – 4:00 pm – Antonin Dvorak – Symphony No. 9 “from the new world” op. 95 – Movement IV: Allegro con fuoco (1895)
INSTRUMENTATION: 1 piccolo, 2 flutes, 2 oboes, 1 English horn, 2 clarinets (A), 2 bassoons, 4 horns (E, F, C), 2 trumpets (E, E-flat, C), 2 trombones, 1 bass trombone, 1 tuba, timpani, 1 percussion (triangle, crash cymbals), strings
