Awesöme Orchestra | Epic Free Classical Concerts

Awesöme Orchestra brings people together for musical adventures. Their free sessions are part performance, part open rehearsal. They provide the sheet music, and anyone is welcome to play or to listen.

The Awesöme Orchestra Collective is the Bay Area’s most adventurous reading orchestra, dedicated to playing excellent orchestral music of all kinds with amazing musicians in a fun, casual environment focused on high musicianship. Their events are always free, but they ask for a pay-what-you-will donation to help cover basic costs.

Mark your calendars for Awesöme Orchestra Open Session 70 on Saturday, September 14 from 1:00pm – 4:00pm at SFMOMA.

Come join us on September 14 as we head back to SFMOMA’s Public Knowledge Library for an afternoon of premieres. We’re trying something a little different for this session – three new pieces that focus on different orchestrations (a big band arrangement, a piece for glockenspiel, singers, and strings, and a piece for strings and woodwinds). Due to venue restrictions, we won’t be able to have more than sixty musicians playing at once, so it will be more of a round-robin session.

WHEN: Saturday, September 14, 2019, 1:00–4:00pm

WHERE: Public Knowledge Library, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, 151 3rd St., San Francisco, CA
