Awesöme Orchestra | Epic Free Classical Concerts
Awesöme Orchestra brings people together for musical adventures. Their free sessions are part performance, part open rehearsal. They provide the sheet music, and anyone is welcome to play or to listen.
The Awesöme Orchestra Collective is the Bay Area’s most adventurous reading orchestra, dedicated to playing excellent orchestral music of all kinds with amazing musicians in a fun, casual environment focused on high musicianship. Their events are always free, but they ask for a pay-what-you-will donation to help cover basic costs.
Awesome Orchestra is partnering with physicians at Kaiser Permanente to co-present this next session as part of their Wellness series. It’s open to everyone in Awesöme Orchestra (players and audience), and will also feature a core group of physicians and their families in the long and interesting tradition of doctor’s orchestras letting their hair down for an awesome time.
Repertoire and schedule are as follows, lead by conductor and Founding Artistic Director, David Möschler:
- Beethoven – Symphony No. 7 (selected movements time-willing)
- Richard Rodgers – Carousel Waltz
- Bernstein – “”Make Our Garden Grow”” (choral finale from Candide)
To play, you must sign up.
Check out sheet music for both pieces on Google Drive.
