“Bailout”: Dance Performance Response to Japan Earthquake | Mission Dist.

Navarrete x Kajiyama Dance Theater’s latest multi-disciplinary performance work, “Bailout or Can You Picture This Prophecy? The Temperatures Are Too Hot For Me,” addresses the 2011 earthquake, tsunami, and nuclear catastrophe in Northern Japan.

“The work looks at humanity’s relationship with the oceans and how we cope when facing environmental disaster. The choices we have made to fulfill our urban lifestyles have resulted in unimaginable consequences.

Large financial institutions are being bailed out, but who will bail out the rest of us?

This is a site-specific work that will take place in and around Dance Mission Theater on May 10-12, 2013 at 8 pm.
