Event Details

On April 14th, from 4-7 p.m., PatchWorks Films is hosting a launch party for their campaign to raise funds to finish the Cuban baseball film “Got Balz.” The event is hosted by Sports Basement, 1590 Bryant Street, San Francisco.

The free public event features food, live Cuban music, and never-before-seen clips from the forthcoming film. You can donate-to-win baseballs signed by San Francisco Giant’s legends, tickets to San Francisco Giants and Oakland A’s games, original Cuban and American art, gift certificates to Sports Basement, and more. Party-goers can shop Sports Basement at 10% off, too. All donations are tax deductible.

Kickstarter Launch Party to Raise Finishing Funds is Free and Public
The coming of age journey of a thirteen-year-old boy who embarks on a mission to send baseballs to Cuba—a act of thanks for sheltering his grandfather during the Holocaust. Collecting balls and bats seems easy, until he’s thrown a curveball. Youthful idealism collides with U.S. policy, and family history in a moving and engaging coming-of-age story that asks: what does it take to do good in the world?
