The July Bay Trail Confidential program will spotlight Brooklyn Basin, a great new park on the Oakland waterfront about a mile south of Jack London square. The new space has quickly become popular for a wide array of activities including skating, dancing, live music and comedy as well as family time. We’ll be hearing from representatives of these activity groups and hearing from them what makes this location so appealing for what they do.
We’ll also be joined by Evan Kenward, a volunteer for Greenway Stimulus. he’ll tell us about the work his group does to secure funding to build out the Bay Trail and similar greenway networks around the country.
Each month, Bay Trail Confidential spotlights great places to visit on the SF Bay Trail, which currently spans more than 350 miles along SF and San Pablo Bays. The goal of the Bay Trail Project is to completely encircle both Bays with more than 500 miles of trail for cyclists, pedestrians and other users.
The program is hosted by the non-profit SF City Guides. We’re grateful to everyone who can make a donation and help us keep our non-profit strong as we weather the pandemic. Such donations are optional, and our foremost goal is to attract people from around the Bay Area to celebrate the amazing public places available to ALL on the Bay Trail.
