SF’s Yerba Buena Gardens Festival 2026
The 2026 Yerba Buena Gardens Festival hosts a full lineup of free outdoor music, theater, circus, dance, poetry, and children’s programs. The Festival opens on Saturday, May 9, 2026 with Hermán Olivera y Orquesta Taíno to kick off its 26th season. The Festival features over 100 free performances from May to November in Downtown San Francisco.
A pioneering eight-piece band from Brooklyn, Red Baraat combines the ecstatic, hard-driving North Indian tradition of bhangra with elements of go-go, rock and jazz.
Conceived by Sunny Jain, a master of bhangra’s signature dhol drum, the group has drawn worldwide praise with a singular sound featuring muscular horns, raucous electric guitar, and a powerhouse percussion triumvirate.
Dubbed “the best party band in years” by NPR, Red Baraat puts the bang in bhangra. In much the same way, the San Francisco collective Non Stop Bhangra highlights the art form’s ancestral Punjabi roots while incorporating contemporary influences.
Featuring the exhilarating performers of Dholrhythms Dance Company, the group mixes traditional tracks and remixes by DJ Jimmy Love while incorporating live dhol and dance lessons.
