On April 3, YBCA will host another fabulous, free Big Idea Night pARTy with DJs, live painting, and a music school. thePeople collective puts the spotlight on Oakland as a nexus of the hottest underground dance music, art, fashion, food and dance.

Feel the bass bone-deep with West London’s broken-beat king Daz-I-Kue (Bugz in the Attic), experience power-painting with MEAR ONE, and discover that you’re never too cool for Music School: The Roots of Dance Floor Soul with special guest instructors Dedan, Aybee, dj Wazir and Rob Rhythm. Imbibe the vibe with cash bars open all night long!

Take a boogie break in our galleries, where all YBCA exhibitions will be open ‘til 1 am, including Renée Green: Endless Dreams and Time-Based Streams, PAUSE: Death’s Boutique, and the Global Lives Project in the Room for Big Ideas. And learn more about YBCA’s Big Idea, “Under the Influence,” which focuses on how people navigate and perceive the myriad influences in their lives.
