This session will explore the basics of cryptocurrencies and their underlying blockchain technology, all in the context of nonprofits and the social sector. We will examine the trends and opportunities in relevant areas including nonprofit fundraising, impact measurement, and organizational management. From the practical to the far out, the program will go beyond the bitcoin hype and provide you with what you need to know about leveraging cryptocurrencies and blockchain for your nonprofit work.

Educational outcomes:
–  A basic understanding of bitcoin, other cryptocurrencies, and blockchain technology
–  Knowledge of how crypto and blockchain are being used by nonprofits and other social sector organizations
–  Specific ideas for utilizing these technologies in your own nonprofit

About the presenter:
Paul Lamb, principal of Man on A Mission Consulting, is a consultant and entrepreneur with over 25 years of experience in business, nonprofit management, technology, and public policy.
